In one of the earliest written histories of the Krakowiak Polish Dancers, we read that… “The Boston Krakowianki Club was organized in 1937 by twelve young girls of Polish descent who had been attending a Saturday morning class where they studied the Polish language and their Polish heritage, which included Polish folk dances. Miss Frances Lukasiewicz taught this class and instilled in the girls at an early age a fond interest in Poland.” Not long after this, the young women appeared at the Festival of Nations at Jordan Hall, one of their first ever performances.
